OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA, USA, October 23, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ — The BookFest recognizes and promotes excellence in literature and elevates authors and creatives who contribute outstanding work to the literary world.

Amazon Bestselling and award-winning Bay Area crime novelist Lisa Towles, of OAKLAND, is the First Place Winner at The BookFest Awards Fall 2023 for her international thriller titled Salt Island. The book is honored as the First Place Winner in three award categories: Detective – Private Investigators & Mystery, Mystery – Murder & Crime, and Mystery – Spies & Espionage.

Released by Indies United Publishing House in June, 2023, Salt Island is the second book in Towles three-book E&A Investigations Series – a first person thriller series tracing the Ellwyn and Abernathy private investigations team as they confront cases involving mental illness, corporate espionage, eco-terrorism, and cutting edge technologies.

Underlying the E&A Series’ mythology is Ellwyn’s endless search for her missing father, CIA operative and purported spy, this time in the British Virgin Islands. In additional to The BookFest awards, Salt Island also earned Pencraft, Readers Choice, Readers Favorite, and Literary Titan book awards this year.

Towles says, “Being selected as a winner of The BookFest Awards, especially in three categories, is an incredible honor. I am grateful to be recognized for the hard work and dedication that went into creating Salt Island. I hope this award will inspire others to pursue their own literary passions.”

Desireé Duffy, Founder of The BookFest, says, “This year’s competition was exceptional, and Lisa Towles should be very proud of this outstanding accomplishment. Today, more than ever, it is important to recognize authors and creatives for the vital part they play in crafting the stories that shape our world and define our humanity. I believe that by acknowledging authors and their literary achievements, we lift literature in our world, and lift each other in the process.”

Terror Bay, Towles’ forthcoming standalone thriller, will be released by Indies United Publishing on November 29, 2023.
